JUNE MEMBERSHIP SPECIALS
Throughout the month of June, new members can take 50% off of one-time join fees and receive FREE fitness classes! Don’t wait! Summer is a great time to establish a fitness routine that will last throughout the year.
SCHOOL EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION MONTH
Any school employee (including college and university employees) can join the YMCA during the month of June and pay NO JOIN FEES! School employees will also receive June fitness classes FREE! The YMCA would like to thank school employees for the hard work they do in our community.
Fitness
NEW FITNESS CLASSES
Beginning Cardio Blast meets on Monday nights at 5:40 in the Group Cycling room. Participants learn proper techniques for YMCA cardio classes including step aerobics, cardio kick, group cycling and more. Class also includes strengthening and toning exercises. Meet other beginners and have a blast, intermediate to advanced participants learn proper form and try something new.
Outdoor Boot Camp
Outdoor class meets at Cascades Park in the parking lot by the batting cages. Class format includes running, calisthenics, drills and more. Great outdoor workout, great summer fun! Regular class fees apply.
Youth, Family, and Swim Programs
SUMMER BREAK IS HERE!
Register the kids for Super Summer Day Camp, Swim Lessons, Gymnastics and more at the Jackson YMCA. Don’t let your kids get bored this summer. Financial assistance is available.
JACKSON COUNTY ROSE PARADE
Get the whole family together and walk (or ride the Blue Bus) in the Rose Parade. Y-members, staff and friends will meet at the YMCA at 12:00 noon on Sunday June 7th. Parade route ends at Parkside Middle School. YMCA bus will bring everyone back.
Special Events
SHIPSHEWANA SHOPPING ADVENTURE
Register by Monday the 8th for the annual Shipshewana shopping adventure. Just $20 for members and $35 for nonmembers! The adventure includes a continental breakfast, transportation, and refreshments on the way home. Bus will stop at the flea market, the Esson House for a delicious home-style lunch, the cheese factory, and Yoder’s Supply Store. Bus departs at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 9th and returns at 6:00 p.m.
MEMBER APPRECIATION WEEK
Member appreciation week is June 8th through 13th. Each day there will be something special for our members to show them how much we appreciate them!
CHARITY CLAY SHOOT
It will be a blast! Join us September 19th at the Brooklyn Sportsman Club for the Jackson YMCA’s first Charity Clay Shoot. Cost to participate is $70 per person ($35 can be claimed as a donation) and includes continental breakfast, safety instruction, shoot, and lunch featuring awards and silent auction. Active Older Adults
JULY AOA OPEN HOUSE
The Jackson YMCA is hosting an open house on Thursday July 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for all Active Older Adults. Come try our new Silver Sneakers fitness class, win prizes, get new member discounts on membership, and meet with representatives from insurance companies that may pay for your YMCA membership. Join us for fun and refreshments, and the opportunity to learn more about what your YMCA has to offer Active Older Adults.
AOA STROKE PREVENTION SEMINAR AND POTLUCK
July 9th at 12:00 noon. Bring your favorite passing dish. Make new friends and here Julie McQueen of Lifeline Screening and Stroke prevention speak on simple things you can do to help prevent strokes.
DUTCH VILLAGE TOUR AND ORGAN RALLY
July 18th. More information coming. Learn about the Netherlands while browsing through food and gift shops and viewing performances by Dutch dancers. See and hear unique organs in a beautiful park setting. Bus departs at 9:30 and returns at 5:00.
