Strong Kids ~ Strong Communities Campaign
”When I was a boy, a local gentleman named Bob Croyle, who worked at the Jackson Citizen Patriot started “Bob’s Gang”. He took us under his wing, took us to church on Sundays and to the YMCA. He often wrote articles in the paper about “Bob’s Gang”. He was a big influence in my life. I’d like to “pay it forward” to help other teens participate in YMCA activities. Please accept a donation to your annual campaign to make sure youth in Jackson the opportunity to experience the YMCA like I did”
The Jackson YMCA impacts lives everyday. You can be a part of that impact by donating to the annual Strong Kids ~ Strong Communities Campaign. 100% of the money raised by this campaign goes to help children and families in the Jackson Community. From supporting programs like Family Night, to scholarships that send children to camp, these funds help us continue to build strong kids, strong families, which in turn build a stronger Jackson Community. Just like the member of “Bob’s Gang”, we hope you will “pay it forward” and consider a donation to the Jackson YMCA. Stop by the front desk to donate, or donate online at

Jackson gears up for 4th Annual Racing for Dollars Community Benefit.
Racing For Dollars provides a wonderful opportunity to support several non-profit organizations including the Jackson YMCA Strong Kids ~ Strong Communities Annual Campaign (Partner with Youth) while enjoying a special event with family and friends!
The event will be held on February 14th, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Gene Davis & Sons Banquet Center, 3575 Francis Street, Jackson, and will coincide with the running of the 52nd Annual Daytona 500. As engines roar around the track in Daytona, participants will gather to help raise community awareness and much needed funding to support for the Jackson YMCA Strong Kids ~ Strong Communities Campaign, St. Luke’s Clinic of Jackson, the Kiwanis Club of Jackson Foundation in support of youth programs and the Jackson Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee. Since 2007, Racing For Dollars has raised nearly $100,000 for these local charities.
Racing for Dollars has grown to be a well recognized and well attended event in the Jackson Community. This success is due to the hard work of dedicated volunteers and the generosity of many in the community, such as The Augustine Group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney who led the way in 2007 with a multi-year contribution. Support has continued to grow with the welcoming of CP Federal Credit Union as a partner sponsor for this year’s event.
Racing For Dollars tickets can be purchased for $100 a piece. Each ticket admits two people to the event, includes a specially catered meal and enters them into a raffle with a chance to win the Grand Prize of $2,500. Second place wins $1,500 and third place wins $500. Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in raffles, auctions and games to win cash, prizes, gift baskets and more!
